Regular visit to Chapeltown Sheffield May 2019
Ann and I made our regular monthly visit to Kath & Keith Jackson’s dance at Chapeltown
Sheffield today 12th May. As usual we took our good friend Joyce Dye. The dance was
well attended and Kath had put a number of dances on that we will be doing at Herne
Bay later this month, thanks to both Kath & Keith as this was very helpful.
We had a lovely time dancing and generally having fun. The coffee, tea and biscuits
were also well received 😃😃.
We have been going to this dance for many years and found it to be a great Sunday
afternoon and we are looking forward to Sunday 9th June when we will be celebrating
the 25th Anniversary of this dance. It would be nice to see some new faces so why
not come and join us and I can assure you of a warm welcome from Kath & Keith.
Harrogate Autumn Event 25th - 27th October 2019
What a lovely venue for this years AGM event. Harrogate and the Cairns Hotel provide
the setting. Harrogate is great for the visitors with the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms
providing the now renowned “Fat Rascal” cakes well worth trying!
There are many lovely shopping areas within easy reach of the hotel and for the non
shopper there are the beautiful Valley gardens in the centre of the town, full of
lovely plants and flowers. I am pretty sure these gardens are free to enter.
On the Western edge of the town there are the RHS Harlow Carr gardens which are absolutely
beautiful and well worth the entrance fee of around £11.
The Royal Pump Room Museum at £3.50 entry is well worth a visit and if you dare you
can taste the Spa water whilst taking in the history of the Spa in Harrogate.
For those members who don’t mind travelling by car there are numerous attractions
within a fairly short car ride away, such as “Old Mother Shiptons Cave”, Ripley Castle
and gardens, Knaresborough Castle and St. Robert’s cave also in Knaresborough.
I’m sure whatever you do whilst in Harrogate you will find your stay very enjoyable.
